Australia’s event for the architecture, building, construction and design communities, embarks on its 34th show with a renewed focus.
Building on this foundation, DesignBUILD is advancing excellence and innovation in the built environment, celebrating quality products, sustainable solutions and knowledge exchanges in commercial design and construction.
Returning to Melbourne this April, DesignBUILD will launch a new Digital Building Zone, presenting up-to-the-minute solutions in construction technology and smart buildings. Offering visitors an industry-exclusive opportunity to connect with enterprise companies and start-ups in the construction tech market to realise the potential of digitisation.
DesignBUILD will work closely with UK sister brand Digital Construction Week, to deliver the latest thinking and discussion revolutionising the construction industry, from the digitisation of paper-based processes and cloud-based design collaboration, through to cutting-edge software, AI and sensor technology.
Event Director James Laing is eager for the 2020 event to demonstrate the high standards and continuing innovations happening throughout the entire build process in Australia.
“Through our renewed 2020 focus, we hope to offer visitors a forum where they can connect with trustworthy brands in the industry representing the entire build spectrum, learn about practical solutions, and engage with cutting-edge technology.”
In taking a more holistic view of the future built environment, DesignBUILD will for the first time be co-located with Total Facilities. Giving visitors access to complete strategies and solutions across the building lifecycle from planning to operation, all on one show floor. Visitors will have the freedom to explore both shows and discover trusted suppliers who represent the breadth of the building lifecycle including the latest facilities products and providers across Workspace
Fitout & Design, Energy Efficiency, Access Control, Building Maintenance, Health & Safety and more.
Running alongside the reinvigorated show floor will be a new look, FREE to attend Speaker Series program. With the established and popular Design and Build stages combined to create a central hub that explores the big picture issues impacting the industry.
The 2020 Speaker Series will also see the launch of the Digital Building Theatre, set to present the latest in digital solutions and technological advancements across planning, design and building.
Conference Director Pia Argiratos says, “As an industry, we’re always seeking to improve practice, process and procedure, and therefore this year’s DesignBUILD program will look at not only how compliance and reform can play a role but also technology and innovation.”
“We have curated a range of topics from speakers who are experts in their respective fields to help lead discussions and workshops around improving the way we conceptualise and develop our buildings.”
“From product selection to construction issues, we have seen that there is room for improvement in the industry. The speaker program seeks to offer a platform for exploration, innovation and education to work towards better solutions,” Argiratos says.
Visitors can except to engage in a range of interviews, panels discussions and workshops covering a wide range of topics from Digital Strategy – what to adopt and what to leave behind? To product compliance and updates on building regulatory reforms.
